5 uncommon ways of strengthening your immune system

With the current Covid-19 crisis going on in the world, I thought it would be important to write an article with the goal of strengthening our immune system.

Contrary to popular belief, you can enhance the self defence system of your body by doing everyday simple actions.

My goal in this article is to give you unconventional methods of boosting your immune system. Simple, easy tasks that anyone can do to build up that shield again the horrible powers that be.

So here it goes.

5 Uncommon Ways of Strengthening Your Immune System

(1) Eat lean protein in every meal

Yes, once again we’re talking about protein, but this time much less because of it’s muscle building qualities. Believe it or not, our antibodies are made of the same thing we find in lean cuts of beef, poultry and other animal by products. Also, animal products contain a powerful mineral called Zinc which that helps up the production of infection-fighting white blood cells; even mild zinc deficiencies can increase your susceptibility to infections.

(2) Get moving

Now, I’m not trying to sell the idea of fitness to anyone, but studies show and prove, that just 10 minutes of walking a day increases the strength of our immune system. The reason for this is because moderate training helps increase blood of white and red blood cells across the body in different areas which can lower inflammation and give your body the possibility to get better, quicker.

(3) Breath my friend

Breathing is one of the most simple actions our bodies perform almost on a minute basis. However, scientist are curious about the effects simple exercises such as yoga, meditation and tai chi, have on your body. Scientists from the University of Harvard demonstrate that chronic stress which result from family, friends, and co-workers, or sustained challenges to perform well at one's work are lowered by proper and simple breathing techniques.

However, the research is fairly new and the mechanism behind it has not been discovered yet, but until then, breath my friends.

(4) One glass is good, but two is NOT better.

Alcohol is god’s gift to this earth. A beautiful glass of wine with a delicious steak can be a beautiful complement to a perfect meal, a pint of ale while enjoying your significant other’s company can turn a simple night into something more memorable. However, one glass too many can turn your love tale into another scary movie.

The fact of the matter is, when we drink alcohol, our bodies spend a large amount of the day trying to detoxify our livers. Meanwhile, our natural defences become stale and unprotected increasing our chances of infections and getting diseases.

(5) Hydrate with bone broth

Hydration is by far one of the most important things we can do to our bodies. Drinking 2-3 litres of water can keep you properly hydrated while maintaining proper function of certain organs. Proper hydration can also help us warn off certain diseases and illnesses. More than that, drinking bone broth from either chicken or beef, can help repair the gut biome which can increase the efficiency of you’re digestive system’s ability to properly absorb certain minerals and vitamins.

Don’t forget Hippocrates once said, “all diseases start in the gut”, so please hydrate properly with bone broth.

Lasting words

These methods are for the most part, inexpensive and easy to apply to your everyday life. No matter if you’re rich or poor, introducing these methods can help your body defend against even the most brutal viruses.

At the end of the day, we’re going through weird times, some seem to not care while others are confined with fear.

Regardless of where you are in spectrum, protect yourselves, eat, move and drink properly.

It may save your life.
